There is a huge choice on where to put baby down for a sleep and getting it right is very important for you and your new family.

You may wish to start with either a moses basket or a carrycot, being portable these options allow you to sleep baby downstairs during the day and back in the nursery or in your room at night.

Another option is a crib, these are smaller than a cot and so are an ideal choice if you want to sleep baby in your room but are limited for space.

A cot is ideal if you have a small room and will last your child between 2 and 3 years. Most have 2or 3 base positions and teething rails.

A cot bed is larger and as it converts to a junior bed will last until your child is about 5 years old.
